EyeOps User Feature Guide

How to use EyeOps day to day — especially Eye Chart (per patient) and Optic Queue (clinic-wide).

Before you start

  1. Sign in as the doctor (or open My EyeOps from the module site).
  2. Open Patients from the sidebar.
  3. Open a patient chart (click the name).

Eye Chart (per patient)

Eye Chart is the longitudinal eye record for one patient. Use it whenever you need history across visits — not only today’s consult note.

Open Eye Chart

  1. Open the patient.
  2. Select the Eye Chart tab in the patient modal.
  3. Save when you edit (same save pattern as other specialty tabs).

Optometry workflow

Set Workup status so the front desk / optometrist / doctor handoff is clear:

  • Workup pending — refraction / workup still in progress
  • Workup done — ready for doctor — appears on Optic Queue → Optometry
  • Doctor seen — clears the optometry lane

Follow-up (feeds Optic Queue → Review)

Enter:

  • Next review date
  • Condition tag (e.g. Glaucoma, Cataract, Myopia)
  • Reason

Patients with a review date in the coming weeks appear on Optic Queue → Review.

IOP / glaucoma

  • Add visits with IOP OD / OS (and method) to build history.
  • The IOP sparkline shows readings over time (e.g. 14 → 16 → 15).
  • Turn on Active glaucoma / ocular HTN track for target IOP, status, medication, and next review.

Visits — vision, refraction & exam

For each visit:

  1. Set the visit date.
  2. Record visual acuity in face order on one row: OD (right eye) | OS (left eye) | OU (both eyes) (unaided, BCVA, near, pinhole).
  3. Record refraction (sph / cyl / axis / add / prism).
  4. Optionally expand Eye examination for anterior / posterior segment notes.

Final spectacle prescription

Fill OD / OS refraction, near add, PD, prescription date, and next review. This can later support a printable spectacle Rx.

Diagnosis & conditions

Add diagnoses with OD / OS / OU laterality (e.g. Cataract — OD). Use the quick chips or add a custom label.

Retina screening

For diabetic / retina follow-up:

  • Mark Diabetes and duration if known
  • Last screening / Next screening
  • Retinopathy and macular edema status

Active or due screening dates appear on Optic Queue → Retina.

Surgery pipeline

Mark Active on Optic Queue · Surgery, then set procedure, eye (OD/OS/OU), stage, OT date, PAC, and post-op Day 1 / 7 / 30. These drive the Surgery lane.

Optic Queue (clinic-wide)

Open Optic Queue from the EyeOps sidebar. It lists patients who need attention, derived from Eye Chart data.

Lanes

Use the lane tabs:

| Lane | Shows |
|------|--------|
| All | Everything |
| Review | Follow-up / glaucoma / spectacle Rx reviews due |
| Optometry | Workup pending or ready for doctor |
| Surgery | Active surgery + near post-op dates |
| Retina | Diabetic / retina screening due |

Filter by urgency (Overdue, Due soon, etc.) and search by name, phone, or chart number.

Open a patient from the queue

Click a row to open that patient’s chart on the Eye Chart tab.

Everyday tips

  • Set a next review whenever you want the patient to resurface on Optic Queue.
  • Keep optometry status accurate so the doctor lane stays trustworthy.
  • Add IOP on every glaucoma-relevant visit so the sparkline stays useful.
  • Prefer laterality (OD / OS / OU) on diagnoses and surgery for clear lists.
